Welcome to
an exciting emerging Horticultural Industry in
Australia
Feijoa Fruit (pronounced Fee
Joe Ah) is growing rapidly in demand throughout the world
for its delicious, healthy qualities and versatility. It has
been inevitable that the Industry would spread to Australia,
which has ideal growing conditions in many parts of the country.
The Centre of the Feijoa Industry in Australia is at Lower
Wonga, near Gympie in S E Queensland, where the Casey Family
have established the first commercial Feijoa Plantation. Increasing worldwide demand for Feijoa Fruit, Juice, Feijoa
Wine and many other Feijoa-based products will ensure ready
export markets for considerable years. However, we believe
that continual growth in the Feijoa popularity in Australia
will take up much of the produce initially, providing
an assured outlet for Grower's fruit, along with attractive
returns.
While the focus of Feijoa Australia at Lower Wonga is production of our own quality fruit, juice, pure and other products for the Australian Market, we are very keen to attract many additional growers into
the industry in constructive and informed manner.
To achieve this - The Feijoa Australia Trust has now been established to effectively and progressively drive the development of the broader Feijoa Industry for the whole of Australia, to provide propagation of suitable trees for the commercial grower and home gardener, to provide industry training, support and cooperative marketing on a National scale. Our aim is to establish a coordinated and mutually cooperative
Industry that does not fall into the traditional traps that
have fragmented many horticultural Industries.
