Welcome to Feijoa Australia
The beginning of an exciting new Horticultural Industry in Australia

Feijoa Fruit (pronounced Fee – Joe – Ah) is growing rapidly in demand throughout the world for its delicious, healthy qualities and versatility. It has been inevitable that the Industry would spread to Australia, which has ideal growing conditions in many parts of the country.

The Centre of the Feijoa Industry in Australia is at Lower Wonga, near Gympie in S E Queensland, where the Casey Family have established the first commercial Feijoa Plantation, with the first crop having been harvested for 2005 and the current crop ready for harvest March-June 2006.

Increasing worldwide demand for Feijoa Fruit, Juice, Feijoa Wine and many other Feijoa-based products will ensure ready export markets for considerable years. However, we believe that continual growth in the Feijoa popularity in Australia will take up much of the produce initially. On-Farm Processing will be a pivotal part of the Lower Wonga Plantation, providing an assured outlet for Grower's fruit, along with attractive returns.

We are very keen to attract many additional growers into the industry in constructive and informed manner.

Our aim is to establish a coordinated and mutually cooperative Industry that does not fall into the traditional traps that have fragmented many Industries, such as the Olive Industry. Feijoas will generally grow just about anywhere that Olives will grow and they provide a viable return much sooner.
